Changing Your Subscription Plan

Upgrade or downgrade plans

By iantroisi•Last updated: January 2025

Overview

Changing your ServTrackr subscription plan is easy and can be done at any time. Whether you need to upgrade to access more features or downgrade to save costs, this guide will walk you through the process.

When you change your plan, your new features will be available immediately for upgrades, while downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period.

How to Change Your Plan

Step 1: Navigate to Billing Settings

Log in to your ServTrackr account and go to "Settings" → "Billing" from the main navigation menu.

Step 2: View Current Plan

On the Billing page, you'll see your current plan details, including features, pricing, and billing cycle information.

Step 3: Compare Available Plans

Click the "Change Plan" or "View Plans" button to see all available subscription options. Review the features and pricing for each plan to determine which one best fits your needs.

Step 4: Select New Plan

Click "Select Plan" or "Upgrade" on your desired plan. You'll see a summary of the changes, including any price differences and feature updates.

Step 5: Confirm Changes

Review the changes carefully, then click "Confirm" to complete the plan change. You'll receive a confirmation email with the details of your new plan.

Upgrade vs Downgrade

Upgrading Your Plan

When you upgrade to a higher-tier plan, the changes take effect immediately. You'll gain access to additional features right away, and you'll be charged a prorated amount for the remainder of your current billing period.

Downgrading Your Plan

Downgrades take effect at the end of your current billing period. This means you'll retain access to your current plan's features until your next renewal date. After that, you'll be switched to the lower-tier plan and charged accordingly.

Billing Changes

When you change plans, your billing will be adjusted as follows:

  • Upgrades: You'll be charged the prorated difference between your old and new plan for the remainder of your billing period.
  • Downgrades: Your next invoice will reflect the lower price, starting from your next billing date.
  • Annual Plans: Changes to annual plans may require contacting support to handle prorating correctly.

Common Issues

  • Issue: Can't see the plan I want.
Solution: Some plans may require specific account types or minimum usage levels. Contact support if you don't see the plan you're looking for.
  • Issue: Payment failed when upgrading.
Solution: Verify your payment method is valid and has sufficient funds. Update your payment information in the Billing section and try again.
  • Issue: New features not appearing after upgrade.
Solution: Try refreshing your browser or logging out and back in. If the issue persists, contact support.
  • Issue: Want to cancel plan change.
Solution: If you haven't confirmed the change yet, simply navigate away from the page. For confirmed downgrades that haven't taken effect yet, you can reverse them in the Billing settings before your next billing date.
