Creating Templates
Save time by creating estimate templates:
- Create an estimate with all desired line items
- Configure introduction, terms, and settings
- Click "Save as Template"
- Name the template descriptively
- Choose whether to share with team
- Template saves all items, descriptions, and pricing
Template Types
Different templates for different scenarios:
- Service-Specific: AC replacement, water heater install, etc.
- Job Size: Small repair, medium job, large project
- Good-Better-Best: Three pricing tiers for same service
- Seasonal: Winter prep, spring maintenance, etc.
- Emergency: After-hours pricing and rush service
- Maintenance Contracts: Annual or monthly service agreements
Using Templates
Apply templates to new estimates:
- Start creating a new estimate
- Click "Load from Template"
- Browse or search templates
- Select the template to use
- Template loads all pre-configured items
- Customize as needed for specific job
- Prices update from current Price Book
Sharing with Team
Ensure team consistency with shared templates:
- Make templates available to all team members
- Set some templates as "company standard"
- Lock pricing on standardized templates
- Track which team members use which templates
- Update templates and changes apply to future uses
- Allow team to create personal templates too
