Importing Items
Quickly add hundreds of items from a spreadsheet:
- Prepare your data in CSV or Excel format
- Go to Price Book → Import/Export
- Download the template to see required columns
- Fill in: Name, Description, Price, Category, Type
- Upload your completed file
- Review items in preview
- Fix any errors flagged
- Complete the import
CSV Format Requirements
Required columns for import:
- Name: Service or product name (required)
- Description: Detailed description (optional)
- Price: Default price (required)
- Cost: Your cost for profit tracking (optional)
- Category: Price Book category (optional)
- Type: service, inventory, or pricing-rule
- Calculation Type: FLAT, HOURLY, or PER_UNIT
- SKU: Product code for inventory items
Exporting the Price Book
Export your Price Book for various uses:
- Backup your pricing data
- Share with team for review
- Analyze pricing in Excel
- Compare with competitor pricing
- Audit pricing changes over time
- Export includes all items, categories, and packages
Bulk Updates
Update multiple items at once:
- Export current Price Book to CSV
- Make changes in spreadsheet (price increases, etc.)
- Re-import with "Update Existing" option
- System matches by ID or SKU
- Preview changes before applying
- Bulk updates save hours of manual editing
